THE GREATEST LOVE STORY

Yes, it’s that time again when we tell our boos or baes to pack up for a little summer getaway. I just got back from a single’s retreat so this does not apply to me, but ya'll know who you are.

The Taj Mahal was built in honor of India’s ruler Shah Jahan for his favorite beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died while giving birth to their 14 child. Why am I sharing this story you ask? Well, as a gesture of my love for my ex, I planned our trip to visit this magnificent wonder of the world, but no sooner did we land, than the complaints started, and well, we ended up flying back a day earlier than scheduled. So, I share my picks for a few places to take your significant other without breaking the bank just in case you end up like me broke and nothing to show for it.

PICNIC FOR TWO

SOME PRIVACY PLEASE

Ok, so maybe you want to escape Cali with your bae if you live in the state you got some travel dollars to spend, my next spot is in Phoenix, Arizona. Hold up, now before you start thinking I am crazy to suggest a hotter place to visit than California, let me tell you why. There is a resort and spa I recently did a photoshoot at named JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa. This place has mountain views, plush guest rooms or suites, four outdoor pools, and its own restaurant, or hey, just order some room service and enjoy the desert view. No crowded beaches, sand everywhere, loud noises, just you and your boo snuggled up watching the sunset while you talk about how ya’ll gonna top next year’s travel spot. You’re welcome!

My first romantic spot in Napa Valley, California. Yes, you read that right, good ‘ol wine country. Here are my pros that I am sure your boo is going to love. First off Napa Valley has some of the most beautiful wineries in all of Northern California, there are really nice hotels in the area, or you can book a bed-in-breakfast. If you live in California, you don’t even have to fly, I recommend flying though because for the price of gas you could most likely get two plane tickets on Southwest Airlines, and be there in half the time. You can rent a car for a little sightseeing if you both have never been or if one of you has then you can pop over to some scenic spots. If you both are hungry, stop off at a local food spot, I highly suggest that you read the reviews of some of the restaurants in the area, or how about a nice little picnic in a grassy area. Finally, take bae to the wineries, I recommend picking one close to Skywalker Ranch, this way you can sneak out while your significant other is on a wine tasting tour, and you can head on over and pitch an Obi-Wan season 2 episode idea to George Lucas. Sounds good am I right?!

win together

Sin City, I mean the name says it all, so feel no shame by taking that special someone to the city of lights Las Vegas, Nevada. There are plenty of hotels on the strip to choose from, you got Paris Hotel, Bellagio Hotel The Cosmopolitan Hotel, or if you feeling a bit romantic then go all-in on The Venetian, after all, it is the next best thing to actually being in Italy. The rooms are luxurious, you can choose a scenic view suite, and then take your sweetie on a gondola ride for that perfect selfie. No to mention the best restaurants, choose the fountain view while you have a quiet dinner for two at Lago in Bellagio, if you win big then take a trip to the shops at Palazzo, and if you really feel lucky checkout Silk Sonic at Dolby Live unless your boo got you smokin’ out the window, then you might want to go check out Usher at MGM Resorts. It's a win, win, and you can’t lose!
