Summer is finally here, and so ushers in another year of hot weather and lots of cool stylish fashions. Now is the perfect time to shop for the latest styles of all things linen for summer.

Now, I know what you may be thinking, who is going to wear a trouser suit in hot weather? Hear me out, linen trouser suits are on-trend for summer due to their sustainable, simplistic style and light fabrics. Linen is a lightweight, breathable fabric that allows for comfort and is stylishly chic. Fashion brands such as Fendi, Jacquemus, Maison Margiela, and Dior have designed some fabulous linen suits, but if you are on a budget H & M, Zara, and Donna Karan offer budget-friendly collections. I love wearing a fabulous linen trouser suit paired with a cute pair of sliders. Linen is a comfortable style at its best, there is the versatility that accompanies each piece, whether it’s pants, skirts, or shorts, you will be able to pair each look seamlessly no matter the venue or event.

FASHION SLOW DOWN

There are many benefits to having linen clothing, it’s biodegradable and is very sustainable, clothes that are made of linen will not lose their shape after washing, and if properly maintained will remain in good condition. In a world of fast fashion that’s environmentally unfriendly, having linen in your wardrobe not only helps the environment but never goes out of style.

ACCESSORIZE TO AMPLIFY

I am often asked about accessories when wearing linen, and my go-to answer is always pair with simplistic jewelry, handbags, and shades. Think of where you are going in your outfit, does the location call for glam, are you traveling to a tropical place, or are you going to an event? No, matter, where you go in linen, wearing the right combination of accessories will always amplify your look. If I am wearing a linen suit, I wear a simple necklace with a bit of bling or a cultured pearl, for a linen dress I go for gold bling hoops or simple tear-drop shape earrings and cuff bracelet, or for a linen bikini a simple drop necklace, stud earrings, and a gold anklet. There are so many jewelry combinations to wear with linen, so be fashionably creative with your look, and show’em your unique style.

BOLD ATTITUDE

When most people think of linen they think of colors that are white, beige, or an eggshell white, those colors are what I call “tundra colors” because they are cold and a bit dull. Dreamy technicolor, vibrant hues, and colorful prints enrapture the latest linen designs. Linen doesn’t have to be boring, and dowdy, from the runways of Bottega Veneta and Saint Laurent these two fashion powerhouses gave us linen fashions that married textured looks with colorful prints. So, what are you waiting for? Take your place in the sun, and be seen in lovely linen colors that bring out your stylish shine.
